It is imperative that the power service have its own ground. (A ground wire from the main three-phase power coming into the BROCK® Power Panel. If the main electrical service is a 3-wire non-grounded Delta supply, consult a qualified electrician for installation.

Control Panel Installations

GROUND the Dryer Control Panel and Dryer

DANGER! To avoid electrical shock, the Dryer Control Panel must be GROUNDED as well as the Dryer. Verify that the Control Box and Dryer are properly grounded with a 10' [304.8 cm] Ground Rod. (See Main Menu for instructions on grounding.)

IMPORTANT! The BROCK® Ground Rod is for the QUANTUM® computer and should not be expected to provide grounding for the remaining equipment connected to the public utility located on the farm or elevator premises.

The solid # 4 wire that connects to the Ground Rod must be terminated directly to the QUANTUM® Control Panel back plate at the bottom of the Slave Board. Dryers which are grounded via connection on the Dryer frame, may, or eventually may, have Moisture Sensor floating problems.

Bonding of the back plates must be done with #6 or #8 solid copper wire, not stranded conductor. This Bonding must be between the Control and Power Panel sections and then to the back plates of any additional control cabinetry which may be on a tower-type Dryer.
