Initial Startup Procedures (Empty Dryer) from MEYER®
IMPORTANT! This procedure assumes that all pre-startup inspections and preparations have been made.
6. The filling process may take 30-60 minutes to complete on the initial fill. When the Wet Grain Level Switch has been satisfied:
7. Inspect the inside of the Dryer:
8. Dry Grain Start: Starting the Dryer when it is initially filled with dry grain.
v. Set the moisture control Mode to AUTO.
e. The Dryer will begin automatic control of the unload rate and plenum temperature to reach the preset outlet target moisture.
9. Wet Grain Start: Starting the Dryer when it is initially filled with wet grain.
c. Batch-dry grain (with unload OFF) for approximately 4 minutes per point,
i.e., 20% to 15% moisture = 5 points, 5 points x 4 minutes = 20 minutes
d. At the end of the batch drying time;
e. The Dryer will begin automatic control of the unload rate and plenum temperature to reach the preset outlet target moisture.
10. Grain discharge temperatures can be adjusted by changing Louvered Air Inlets. See your Owner/Operator Manual.
Service Light (Red Control Panel)
If the outside temperature is below 32 degrees F:
To keep electrical control circuit components warm, turn on the Service Light at least one hour prior to daily startup (or leave on overnight). Do not use this light in the daytime if the temperature is above freezing (32 degrees F).
